A Culinary Masterpiece of Insane Proportions

What you see before you is none other than the greatest meal I have ever created. Yes, it is sweet and sour chicken (on a bed of fluffy jasmine rice, no less!). What makes it an accomplishment is the fact that I whipped up this delectable treat completely from scratch. I deep fried the chicken in a pot of molten lava (er, oil)–which was a first for me (and there are some parts of my arms that don’t have oil burns on them)! I even made the syrupy sweet and sour sauce all by myself! (Who knew the “sour” part came from vinegar?)

Oh, and yes, that is Guinness sitting at the right hand of the plate (which, as everyone knows, is the place of honor for any esteemed beverage).

I hope you enjoyed this foray into the unexplored territory of my skills with pots, pans, and hot insoluble substances! If you’re lucky, there won’t be many more. I suppose, moreover, that the fact that this simple meal is my crowning achievement, the recounting of which being worthy of cluttering the blogosphere, proves only that I have far, far to go before I can consider myself an adept of the gustatory art.

(I.e., I have more important stuff to write about, but not enough time, so I’m showing you what I ate for dinner). Stay tuned.
