right now it’s 2am, and i’m in the tresidder lair for the first time. why?
the story: for weeks, now, no–months, even–i’ve known that i had a 10 page paper due tomorrow [today], june 5th. and yet, miraculously, i avoided even thinking about it until roughly 6 hours ago. at that point, i thought long and hard about which topic i might want to do, and then decided to play return to castle wolfenstein, a new, wonderful, computer game where you run around and shoot nazis, cyborg monsters, and even the undead. fun, strategy, and carnage, for a few hours. eventually i picked the topic with the least number of letters in the prompt, and started working. pretty soon i had my introductory paragraph, so i played some more computer games. i realized immediately, that at that rate, there were not enough hours left in which to finish the paper before it was due. ah well–i keep wanting adventure, and now i’ve got it. so here i am–pulling my first (second? third?) all-nighter of the quarter.
i’ll just shoot some recent news out there in rapid-fire mode:
- i got the summer job i applied for at a medical reserach laboratory at the stanford hospital. i’ll be doing web design and possibly other programming projects. so i’ll be staying in kingscote until september, when i go to portugal and home for a month.
