Things I Like 10-2005

So that I will not be accused of only making lists of heavy and depressing stuff like doubts, here is installment #1 of “Things I Like”! I have put “10-2005” in the title, which implies but does not do anything like promise that this will be a monthly series. The list is not supposed to be particularly deep, so please do not feel injured that I do not mention our relationship, or Jesus, or anything like that. But do remember that I spend most of my days coding, and so a lot of this will be my inner nerd coming out. Here is the list, in no particular order:

(OK, I did get a little deep at the end; I couldn’t help it!)

Things I like about october:
-pumpkin candles
-pumpkin pie
-little pumpkin candies
-pumpkin chai
-pumpkin latte
-pumpkin beer
-pumpkin ice cream

Things I’m looking forward to:
-cranberry candles
-cranberry sauce
-cranberry smoothie
-peppermint tea
-peppermint ice cream

Wow, your list looks a lot more consistent than mine.

Isn’t it interesting how October = pumpkin, November = cranberry, and December = peppermint. I have to say December is by far my favorite.

Ohhh…I like this game!

Things I like about fall:
leaves changing pretty colors…and understanding the biology behind it =)
dreary afternoons
snuggling up by the first fire of the year
cozy sweaters
pumpkin pie
tromping through leaves and hearing them crunch underneath your feet
hearing the rain on the roof
warm gingerbread lattes in the red cups from starbucks
eating soup for dinner…and eating leftovers for lunch
turning the heat up really high in my car
seeing the joy in little kids when the dress up for halloween
pumpkin patches and hay rides
knowing that harry potter and the goblet of fire is not too far away!

fall is my favorite time of year!! =)

A few . . .

Lying in El Cap meadow as the sunset lights 3000 feet of stone on fire
Cinnamon toast and hot chocolate on a rainy day
Narrow trails through a forest
Wishing there were days of old, when magic ruled the air
Feeling my pulse quicken
Being wistful for you know not exactly what; this is my version of longing
Smiling and laughing to yourself when thinking of past conversations
Finding a perfect rhythm while running
Rocking out, singing along

Jonathan, I’m a little concerned about some of the things you said you enjoyed. So why don’t I write a long polemic on why what you like is wrong, and what I like is right. Up for it?
